Mira Street is one of the central and most significant thoroughfares of Orsha, actively developed in the post-war period. It is interesting for its history, which goes back to the pre-revolutionary past: part of modern Mira Street (the section between Lenina Street and Proletarskaya Street) was formerly called Krasnaya (Red) Street and began at the city boulevard, a favorite resting place for Orsha residents. In this section, the old building of the former women's gymnasium, built at the beginning of the 20th century (building No. 6), has been preserved. Over the years, it housed a teachers' institute, and currently, it is the location of a pedagogical college.
