1 Maya Street is one of the significant thoroughfares in the historical part of Orsha, where buildings from the Soviet period have been preserved. Here, at building No. 97, is Kindergarten No. 14 — a one-story building constructed in 1950, indicating the relatively early development of this area. Nowadays, the street continues to develop: construction of a new residential quarter has begun in the area adjacent to Heroes' Park and Chernyshevskogo Street. Two ten-story buildings with 108 and 54 apartments, featuring modern layouts including studio apartments, are planned to be built on the site of old garages. The new buildings will utilize energy-efficient "wide step" technologies, and the courtyard will feature modern playgrounds and sports areas. Thus, 1 Maya Street combines post-war construction with prospects for new development, gradually changing its appearance.
